How can I get on SCRIE/DRIE?

The allowable income limit for SCRIE (Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption) is $50,000. There are three main qualifications when applying for SCRIE. They are:

• Must be 62 or older

• Income must be $50,000 or less

• Must be paying 1/3rd of your income for rent 

Must provide proof of age and income and copies of Leases or MBR/MCR increases.

You will not qualify if the rent you are paying is less than 1/3rd of your income.
